The Beauty of Batangas Road Trip

Going on a Batangas road trip is quite exhausting even if you are from the nearby province like Cavite. It would take you more than three hours to reach a decent road trip with the nature and away from the city noise. But it would be worth it, especially if you’re looking for a long ride with shoreline as a background noise.

Batangas is also a good choice if you’re looking for tranquility, serenity, and peace, which can mostly happen during holy week. It’s like you’re traveling on nostalgic places that even if it’s your first time being there, it feels nostalgic. It’s like you’re back on good old days. Simple and it nourishes your soul.

Well, if my words don’t convince you, perhaps the video here (Batangas Road Trip) and the photos below can:

Have a safe trip and if you’d like to gain more insight regarding motorcycle ride you may visit alnbrtbriones.com while drinking your favorite coffee.

Mt. Pinatubo and its Adrenaline Activities

Mt. Pinatubo is one of the destinations that climbers and non climbers would agree to put on their travel bucket list. It is coined as “A Beautiful Disaster” of the Philippines, and it seems that everybody wants to know why or perhaps to just simply witness its beauty first hand. And since we are at the age of social media, where we can easily view and be influenced by the hype and be enchanted by the beautiful sceneries world wide, Mt. Pinatubo has become more popular, especially to the youth.

But what should we really expect to experience by trekking Mt. Pinatubo? If you’re in a rush and preferred a motion documentation, here’s the link for it (☞゚∀゚)☞Mt. Pinatubo and its Adrenaline Activities Video Documentation you can view our adventure there.

Anyway, since here you are continuing to read my written blah blah blah, allow me to start lay down our adventure at Mt. Pinatubo with the instagrammable photos below:

0-0x0-0-0#

Now that you know that Mt. Pinatubo is really worth that booking/trip, you should also know that trekking it comes with not so-okay experience — perhaps, a beautiful disaster. Here, I’ve already made a list of the things you should know and consider before booking a trip:

1. If you live far from Tarlac, this will not be an easy trip. We were from NCR and Cavite and we left around 12MN to be able to arrive at the drop off / registration point in time. So if you’re not used to getting sleep on a moving vehicle, this will be a challenge. So might as well bring something that could help you sleep comfortable, like pillow neck.

We arrived at Capas, Tarlac around 4:30AM and start the registration process where we signed waivers. Also, 40 and above YO climbers are required to undergo blood pressure check-up before setting off.

By the way, there are several registration places.

2. Do not book your trip on weekends if you are not a fan of crowded area. And when I say crowded, I mean CROOOWWDEED. If you haven’t checked the link above, where you can watch our video documentation, here’s a short clip to help you visualize what I meant:

According to our source, we were more than 1,000 tourists that Saturday, where around 300 units of 4×4 vehicle were dispatched by the tourism office.

3. 4×4 vehicle is a required ride to get to the starting point of trekking. It comes on different models and can accommodate 4 pax at most. Many preferred a jeepney type where tourists can stand and feel the adrenaline rush of being tossed around since the ride is an off-road.

Please spare being brats and be picky with the 4×4 vehicle. Accept what is assigned to your group. Most jeepney owners are Katutubo (Indigenous people). Aside from that, being assigned with a closed 4×4 vehicle is a heaven on the way back. Because who wants to be tossed around when you are already exhausted. We learned that as we ride back at the jump off / registration point, sleeping like a baby.

Yes, you can bring your own 4×4 off road vehicle but you need to process its registration at the tourism office.

4. Most part of the off road areas are used for military trainings so there’s a chance to get stranded while you wait for the training to get done.

5. Katutubo. They are seen all over the municipality. They are the original locals of Capas, Tarlac. The local government has given them job opportunities by enlisting them as tour guides. Although, they are going to be paid by the LGU, be generous to your tour guide and tip them big time. And most especially, be respectful of them.

Also, I advice you to bring spare money or food so you can buy and give it away (though they don’t ask for it, they wait for tourists to initiate) to the katutubo who sells stuff along the trail.

I have learned, upon interviewing our guide, that their lands were taken away from them by the national government since former Pres. Ramos has declared their area non-inhabitant. They didn’t push for an uprise, though. Instead, they find other ways how to sustain their lives in their hometown.

6. You can bring your own food / packed lunch if you are on a budget. But if you prefer to travel with less bagage, food and drinks are very much available along the trail. They even have inasal there.

7. The trail is somehow can be described as a walkathon rather than hiking. It is easy and very much beginner friendly but the walkathon is also tiring and exhausting. But worth it.

8. Remember your tour guide’s face and name, just in case you still picked weekend for your trip and got mixed with thousand of people at the crater. You will spot them after several minutes because he/she will also look for you.

Also, don’t fall in line at the crater unless you want a drone shot and pay.

9. The trail is a mix of rocky and shallow river trek. So, yeah, it’s better to wear sandals.

And, here’s our day hike itinerary to help you plan out your trip:

1:00 AM – leave Manila

4:30 AM – Regstration Point / Drop Off / Breakfast / Prep Up / Waiting in line

If you are less than 8 pax, I suggest that you opt booking a travel agency instead DIY. It will be more budget friendly. Our tour is recommendable if you are looking for one. Message or comment down so I can provide you details.

To sum it up, indeed Mt. Pinatubo is a beauty. No doubt about it. But you have to go through a lot before you witness her beauty. And at the end of your trip, you will have no choice but to agree that it is indeed “a beautiful disaster” not only because of what you went through just to see her but mostly because of the devastation she has done to its surrounding places which perhaps has changed geography but has add to its beauty and providing tourism income opportunities to its locals.

I just hope that those thousands of people who went there not only came for awra photos showcasing their beauty and outfit but have also been overwhelmed by the majestic beauty of Mt. Pinatubo and the disaster that has shaped the lives of the locals and the municipality as well. And that she’s a beauty, but she can be danger as well.

Around the World in 2 Hours via Motorcycle Ride

What would be the best way to kick start off this new year than by spending it on nice a road trip with the love of your life not to mention that you’d be able see the most iconic places around the world.

You read it right. We have traveled around the world within 2 hours via motorcycle ride. But before you labeled us ‘click-bait’ here’s the narrative on how that activity became possible.

First, let me drop the photos to give you ideas of what I’m about to share with you:

Yes, dear readers, these photos were taken in a single place that offered around the world travel experience in the mini world they created where some iconic places were imitated. Welcome to TORRES FARM.

Torres Farm, or also known as Torres Farm Hotel and Resort, is located in Naic, Cavite. Around 3 hours away from Manila. Primarily, this is a resort, where you can enjoy swimming activity, but due to the increasing popularity of the instagrammable imitation of iconic places around the world, people started going there just for photo ops.

There are other activities you can enjoy, like picnic and many more, watch this link: Torres Farm, to know other activities you can enjoy at the so called happiest place in Cavite.

Here are additional instagrammable spots we found:

Meanwhile, here’s the budget breakdown in case you are planning to spend a day tour there:

230 – Entrance Fee for adult

160 – Entrance Fee for kids

20 – Motorcycle Parking fee

30 – Additional for swimming and you wish to have someone to take photos of you

Another cool thing about the place is that it really tried hard to simulate a travel get-away by having its own airport and immigration building. These can be seen on the link I provided above but here are some photos of the airport:

Do not go there on a weekend or holiday if you hate crowded place. We were actually surprised by the multitude of people but what do you expect when it’s January first, ayt? Perhaps the very reason why we only stayed for 2 hours after completing photo ops in each iconic place.

Have a safe travel. Follow this site for future travel tips and updates. I believe my I and my husband will spend more time travelling because we started the year by doing so. Hope you are too. See you around.

Witness Camarines Sur and its Beauty

We’ve stayed at the province of Bicol for a week and that is not enough to experience the beauty it beholds. But continue reading and we’ll share with you the amazing experience we had, so that somehow you’ll have a glimpse of it too. And maybe, you’d want to join us on our future trips back there, specifically at Legaspi, Albay and at Camarines Sur. ☺

I’m quite hesitant to share the beautiful island we stayed at, the hometown of my husband, because I don’t want to exploit the peace, serenity and beauty it has. I want them to continue living at peace with the nature without being distressed by self-entitled tourists and disrespectful businessmen that could buy a place there for a profit gain. But because we aim to showcase the beauty of our country and encourage others to travel too while sharing some useful tips on how to travel on a tight budget, I resolved to share just a bit about the places we went to.

We island hopped for a day, and there are white sand beaches you can enjoy for free. Here are the photos:

And here are other photos we took at other parts of the whole island we went at:

If you are looking for the budget money we had, there’s literally none we spent. But of course, you need to consider paying for the gas of the boat you’ll be using to go to these beautiful places. And you may want to include the fare going to Bicol, here’s the link of our total expenses on trip to Bicol: Motorbike Road Trip to Mayon Volcano (CALABARZON LOOP)

And yeah, we are serious about asking you to join us on our future trips there, we could provide an affordable accomodation, just message us.

God bless on our future trips! Shallom!

Motorbike Road Trip to Mayon Volcano (CALABARZON LOOP)

Right after our wedding, we hopped on our motorbike and started the road trip to Mayon Volcano, located in Legaspi, Albay, Bicol.

I am always mesmerized by the beauty of Mayon Volcano whenever I see it on social media, hence, I told myself that I will definitely see that beauty in person and the very reason why my husband suggested it to be our honeymoon get-away.

Mayon came from the Bicol dialect “magayon” which means beautiful. And upon seeing her personally, I now know, it suits her name perfectly.

Here’s our road trip itinerary:
3:40PM – Cavite to Binangonan
8:00PM – Arrived at Binangonan (sleepover)
7:30AM – Started the CALABARZON LOOP to Bicol

The rest time check can be seen on the following photos:

We reached Bicol at around 6:30 PM and ate our dinner here:

We went back on the road around 8PM and decided to take a lodge at an inn at around 9:30PM to rest. Because I was so exhausted by that time, I told my husband. We continued around 4AM, took our breakfast and coffee break along the way and arrived at Cagsawa around 9AM.

Jeez, the ride was so exhausting but it was all worth it as I witness the beauty of Mayon.

Here are the photos we took as we get closer to Mayon ’til we arrived:

And here’s the photos our tour guide captured:

I know you are looking for the budget we spent, so here it is:
P1000 – Fuel (papunta’t pabalik)
P1000 – Food and Coffee expenses for 2 (papunta’t pabalik)
P400 – 5-hour stay in an inn
P40 – Entrance fee at Mayon for 2
P700 – ATV tour for 2
P100 – Tip for the tour guide
P700 – 12-hour lodging

TOTAL – P3,940

That’s super sulit for a 2-person travel get-away, but yeah, it is exhausting, but yeah, fun and memorable experience. Here’s our travel vlog to help you visualize our ride ☺ : https://youtu.be/jm9J8mAX0UY

Btw, you can take a plane, bus, or van, if you want a less exhausting travel.

Ride safe! God bless!

Road Trip to Pililla Windmill as of June 2021

Since the government already allowed outdoor activity with the provision of following IATF guidelines, I and my fiance went on a road trip to Pililla, Pililla Windmill to be exact.

And upon our road trip we learned that a road is currently on construction, thus, heavy traffic flow is experienced by the travelers. And not only that by the time we got to the location, only 4 wheel vehicle or maybe those who have pre-booked their tour that day were allowed to enter.

That was quite disappointing. Imagine travelling for more than 2 hours and that is what we get. Yeah, we should have searched for any news about it first before heading on. So here we are, informing you the things you should expect and do before going to Pililla Windmill. Meanwhile, here’s the proof of the heavy traffic: Pililla Windmill as of June 2021

Aside from that, it’s a good thing we take every opportunity to take photos of beautiful scenery along the way.

We ate in a karinderya along the way. Their food is quite satisfying and their place is refreshing because it is somehow overlooking.

Thank you and God bless your trip.

First Travel For 2021

The title might sound extravagant, but honestly we didn’t even take a tour outside my province, still every moment in this travel with my fiance is incomparable.

I have mentioned many time here in my blogsite that our province is a coastal area, therefore where else could be my first travel is? Well, the photos below say it all:

I had very few photos to share with you on this trip because I was actually using a roll film camera that needs to be developed yet. I will later on share it with another blog post once they’re available.

And we went again to one of the motorists’ most favorite ride destinations — Kaybiang Tunnel.

Only this time, we encounter a minor problem (to know more about it, here’s the link: https://youtu.be/9vQdMXp555U ). Good thing this child, saved the rest of the trip: (we fail to take a photo with him but here’s a photo of him doing a great job and yes he fixed our flat tire mano-mano, without using electricity.)

That’s all for now. God bless, everyone!

Hidden Instagrammable Spot at Aguinaldo Shrine

If you are planning to tour in the Province of Cavite, then Aguinaldo Shrine should be on your top list.

Whatis Aguinaldo Shrine? Historically, it is the first Malacañang of the Philippines. It is where our first official President, Emilio Aguinaldo, resided together with his family. I am not here to google-feed you, so the rest information is up to you to search or research.

received_197928371297006.jpeg

During “Ber Months” it becomes more attractive and becomes 200% tourist attraction due to its dancing lights. But what do we expect here during the first 3 quarters of the year? Aside from the annual celebration of the birth of Aguinaldo, this place could also be perfect for tourist/vloggers/bloggers who are looking for instagrammable place.

This  place is already well known to many Caviteños, but I don’t think that they already know this hidden spot somewhere the parameter. So here I am, sharing these tips.

First of all, photoshoot is prohibited inside the palace (maybe unles you ask permit from the municipality office), so you can only do it outside. But you can take photos inside like this one, Reminiscing Independence Day at Aguinaldo Shrine

Alright, let’s cut the blah, blah, blah… Here are the photos and portraits we have taken at the hidden spot I’m talking about:

Now, maybe you’re thinking where’s this hidden spot. It’s not as hidden as you thought it could be. Just go around the corners and you’ll discover it too.

Meanwhile, here’s the footage of our trip here: Roadtrip at Cavite, Aguinaldo Shrine

Have a safe tour. Hope you had learned something. Shalom!

Road Trip to Kaybiang Tunnel

If you are a motorbike rider, then most probably you get to set an scheduled road trips to awesome scenery in the country once in a while. And here in the Philippines, Kaybiang Tunnel is one of those attractions a rider (even tourists) must see.

Kaybiang Tunnel made an easy way access from Maragondon to Nasugbu and vice versa. It connects two wonderful provinces: Cavite and Batangas. Travel time from Manila will take 3 hours or more via Motorbike. If you want to know more about Kaybiang Tunnel, Google is just a click away.

Witness our road trip here: Kaybiang Road Trip

And here are some of the photos we had on our trip:

Plus the bonus scenery few meters away after passing through the tunnel from Maragondon:

Enjoy and God bless on your trip! Wear proper safety attire, riders! And be armed with prayer.

You can also check some of the previous photos we had at Kaybiang Tunnel few years ago: Pico de Loro (Mt. Palay-Palay) and Expectation VS. Reality: Carabao Island (Maragondon, Cavite) When Summer’s Over

Cavite Beach During Pre-Christmas Holiday

If there’s someone among my followers here in this blog who misses my hiking adventure, don’t worry, I miss it too. And I was hoping to climb another soon, together with my fiance, just like these road trips with him.

But anyway, being connected with nature is not limited with climbing mountains. Where we went on this trip can relieve stress too. Peace and serenity were found too (only during this season, I guess). Wonderful nature can be seen too. Instagrammable spots are just bonuses. Besides, we travel to enjoy and savor the moment; to refresh us from within and not to get many likes nor countless post shares. Otherwise, you’ll end up draining yourself even more.

Obviously, if you’re in Cavite and you wanted to reconnect with nature, beaches are the ones you can easily go to since it is a coastal place. Hence, we went to one.

There were only few people in this resort, and we even went there weekend. So if you’re the kind of person who hates crowded places but loves being on a beach and has no money to rent one just for yourself and your family then go there during this season.

Here’s my vlog to see exactly what I’m describing: Beach Vlog and Roadtrip

Meanwhile, here are the instagrmmable photos we got on this place:

And if these photos urge you to visit a beach now, please do yourself a favor by going. But remember that instagrammable shots are just bonuses, it must never be your reason why you travel.

Thank you and shalom!
